Tax Accountant Instructor

Are you burnt out but still love accounting and taxes? We are looking for a part-time top-level Tax Accountant Instructor with experience from the Big 4 or regional CPA firm that is seeking to stay current in taxes and has a true passion sharing their knowledge and teaching those around them. This person will oversee and teach the curriculum that we’ve created as an ongoing basis and continue to refine it to challenge our team, as well as demonstrate experience in tax operations, innovating efficiency, and possess multidisciplinary knowledge and application of concepts in the areas accounting and tax.

As the Tax Accountant Instructor, you will:

-Stay current regarding the professional body of knowledge in the field of practice.
-Provide functional direction on the administration of federal, state, and local tax controls.
-Develop and conduct one-on-one and group training.
-Review and maintain existing training curriculum, course material, evaluations, and tests.
-Monitor and evaluate training participants and tracks progress. -Perform administrative functions necessary to deliver and document learning and development programs.
-Design interactive and motivational classroom activities to fully engage staff to reinforce student learning.
-Employ culturally competent teaching methodologies in the classroom.
-Teach basic and advanced accounting taxation with knowledge, ability, and enthusiasm.
-Update materials periodically, and regularly monitor course evaluations to adjust and improvements to the curriculum.
-Design, develop and implement innovative cutting-edge, customized corporate and professional training programs for our diverse clients.
-Communicate teaching objectives and specific learning outcomes to staff, and clearly outline the outline.
-Respond to staff questions in timely manner.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelors required, master’s in taxation or accounting preferred.
• CPA & EA License required.
• 5+ years of supervisory and training experience.
• 5+ years of taxation experience, corporate, partnership, trusts and individuals.
• Significant experience with complex corporate, partnership and individual tax returns, including the preparation of specialized partnership allocation and multi-state filings.
• Substantial experience with tax planning and long-term tax structuring.
• Proficient with QuickBooks.
• Experience with Lacerte, Smart Vault, CCH a plus.
• Excellent computer skills with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong bookkeeping skills.
• Ability to stay up to date on tax regulations.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with project deadlines and the ability to multitask.
• Authorized to work in the US.

-Part time 25-30 hours per week.
